The following is a proposed itinerary. All planned activities are dependent on the weather and a host of other variables. The safety of the guests and the well-being of the vessel are paramount as we customize our itinerary to the conditions of the day. We have a bank of activities to keep us active and comfortable in almost any condition.

Day One: Airlie Beach to Nara Inlet on Hook Island

Welcome AboardYou will meet us at the colorful and cosmopolitan town of Arlie Beach in Queensland where we will be waiting on our yacht that is provisioned and ready to go. You can settle in to your cabin before a briefing about safety aboard and how to live comfortably on the boat. Once everyone is comfortable, we will untether from the dock and head out to sea. We’ll spend our first night anchored in the pristine Nara Inlet. Its steep gorge is reminiscent of a Scandinavian fjord, but quite tropical. The adventurous among us can go ashore to explore the waterfalls and abundant wildlife on Hook Island.

Day Two: Nara Inlet to Cid Harbour

Hiking at Nara Inlet, Whitsunday IslandsAfter a leisurely breakfast onboard, we will weigh anchor and head south to Cid Harbour. For incredible views of the Whitsunday Islands, we can take a strenuous walk along the Ngaro Sea Trail to Whitsunday Peak.   There is also a nice walk to Dugong Inlet from Sawmill Beach. We will gather back on the boat for cocktails and dinner aboard as we watch the sunset over  Molle Island.

Day Three: Cid Harbour to Hamilton Island

Pool at Hamilton Island ResortAfter mooring near the Hamilton Island Yacht Club, we can venture ashore to the island’s nature park that offers the quintessential Australian experience, allowing you to get up close and personal with kangaroos, koalas, goannas and plenty of other indigenous wildlife. Our guests are free to use the resort’s pools and beaches, or perhaps climb the rugged Passage Peak to reach more panoramic views of the Whitsundays and hike back down for a swim in Casey Bay. We will round up a few necessaries at the shopping village and dine ashore at one of the island’s fine resorts.

Day Four: Hamilton Island to Whitehaven Beach on Whitsunday Island

Silica Sand of Whitehaven Beach

We will anchor offshore near the swirling sands of Hill Inlet where the tides and creek currents collide to create dazzling patterns in the undersea sands. A short hike ashore to Betty’s lookout offers an overview of one of the world’s most beautiful beaches. Once back at the boat, we can snorkel among stingrays before a sunset dinner onboard. If there is a strong north/northeasterly breeze, we will relocate to a more protected anchorage for the night.

Day Five: Hamilton Island to Butterfly Bay

Red Cliffs of the Whitsunday IslandsAfter the short sail from north Hamilton Island, we will anchor in the picturesque azure waters of Butterfly Bay. With its rugged terrain and plethora of land and sea wonders, it’s no wonder that this part of the Whitsunday Islands National park has been named a World Heritage Site. We can explore the beach and the coast by dinghy before relaxing for a peaceful evening in the protected waters of the bay.

Day Six: Butterfly Bay to Blue Pearl Bay on Hayman Island

Nighttime visitors to the BoatAs we round the north end of Hayman Island, the rich waters of Blue Pearl Bay will open up to us. The stunning blue lagoon with its fringing coral reef is home to an array of sea life. Bring your sunscreen for an afternoon of snorkeling and relaxing.

Day Seven: Blue Pearl Bay to Palm Bay on Long Island

Sailing in the Whitsunday IslandsAfter an early breakfast, we’ll head south to Long Island and drop anchor in the picturesque Palm Bay. A short hike inland will allow us to explore the island’s national park where we can enjoy the dense bush and secluded beaches.   After a day in the bush, we will enjoy the exceptional food while dining ashore at Palm Bay resort.

Day Eight: Palm Bay back to Airlie Beach

Anchored for the Evening off of Hook IslandAfter a quick breakfast aboard, we will make the short sail back to Arlie Beach to conclude our journey.

My first trip with this group. Loved every minute! The food was amazing, thanks to Jean. I am still wondering how she managed some of the delicious and beautiful dishes. The new friends I made were interesting and very compatible. I hope to see all of them in Tahiti. Thanks to Capt Trey for his skills at sailing and putting up with 7 opinions. Lastly, thanks to my dear friend Kathy for letting me be a part of a great adventure.
